I help organizations with writing and editing, publication and editorial management, and training in business communications. One of my specialities is plain language communications – a highly sought after skill particularly helpful in the health services, government, and financial sectors.
I have held senior communications roles with several, large organizations culminating as the Director of Communications at Biovail Pharmaceuticals. In 2011, I launched my freelance business. My experience spans industries including finance, healthcare, IT, publishing, government, and academia. After 20 years in the profession I've done everything from writing and publication development, to corporate branding and marketing, to strategic planning and executive training.
I currently teach Business Communications at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. In addition, I am on the Board of Directors with the International Association of Business Communicators, Golden Horseshoe Chapter.
I hold a Master of Arts degree in Publishing (MPub) from Simon Fraser University, a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (BA Honours) from the University of Guelph, as well as a Business & Management Communications Diploma from Simon Fraser University.
